Want to work together?
Lets meetup.
Nation.Africa is the biggest independent media powerhouse in East and Central Africa, with hubs in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. They run 67 media outlets across TV, radio, online, and print. The big task? Create a unified way to tell their story and keep their vibe consistent across all these platforms while also turning heads of the younger crowd.
The flags
A nation is all about its people, culture, and history, wrapped up in flags and crests. We tapped into this rich diversity, pulling inspiration from flags across Africa to build a fresh, cohesive design language. This setup lets us mix and match design elements while staying true to African roots.
The logo won the European Design Awards, and the entire identity a Red Dot Award and an iF Award.
We created a design matrix that locks down rules for color, typography, grids, and graphics. This guide makes sure every piece of content can flex to fit its purpose and audience while keeping a unified look. Whether it’s a chill, straightforward message or something loud and hype, the matrix has it covered.
The matrix has two axes: from bombastic to understated and from young to old. Below you can see a more understated variant for the news.
